KFSM, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in Fayetteville-Fort Smith, AR, is looking for a dynamic and engaging Meteorologist to join our weekday morning team. This meteorologist will experience a range of forecast challenges – from severe weather to winter storms and extreme temperatures. We are looking for a team player who can tell a comprehensive weather story and help lead severe weather coverage on TV, streaming and other digital platforms. This position entails forecasting, creating graphics, and producing original content. The ideal candidate is creative, embraces new technology and has a passion for streaming.

Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts in a multi-platform environment
• Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary.
• Produce clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story
• Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
• Write and report from the field or inside the station.
• Update website, produce streaming-specific forecasts, and interact with viewers on social media platforms daily
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Make public appearances
Requirements:
• BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience, or Atmospheric Science.
• 2+ years on-air meteorology experience required
• Proficiency in posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including weather and newsroom computer systems
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and fill-in when necessary
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
