Scott Siler

Career and accomplishments as an Arkansas Broadcaster

Scott Siler has spent nearly four decades serving Arkansas communities through broadcasting. From his early days behind the mic to his current role as Chief Operating Officer of EAB Media Group, Scott has helped shape the growth and direction of Arkansas’s largest radio company — one built on a foundation of local service, community storytelling, and innovation.

A graduate of Arkansas State University’s Radio/TV Department, Scott received the Paul Bond Outstanding Senior Award, a student-voted honor given to a classmate who demonstrates dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work in communications. His broadcast career began at KASU, ASU’s campus station, where he worked part-time before accepting a full-time position at KCCB in Corning. After just six months, Scott was hired by Bobby Caldwell to join East Arkansas Broadcasters as News and Sports Director in Stuttgart.

From there, his responsibilities and leadership grew. Scott became the longtime manager of the Stuttgart station, and when Bobby acquired new stations in Jonesboro, Scott was brought in to manage both markets. While managing the Stuttgart market, Scott also served as the morning show host for Southeast Arkansas from 1986 to 2007 — a 21-year run that made him a daily presence in homes, vehicles, and farm shops across the region.

As the company expanded, Scott played a major role in its evolution into what is now EAB Media Group — a company with 59 stations in Wynne (corporate headquarters), Jonesboro, Stuttgart, Russellville, Clarksville, Morrilton, Conway, Blytheville, and Newport.

Scott helped develop three key statewide radio networks:

• The Arkansas Now News Network, which connects communities across Arkansas with timely, relevant statewide news
• The EAB Ag Network, which supports the state’s agriculture economy and producers
• The EAB Sports Network, which broadcasts Arkansas State University, Arkansas Tech, and 26 high school football games each Friday night, many with live video streams

He also led the redevelopment of the statewide radio network for A-State sports, strengthening the connection between the university and its fans.

Scott served as the “Voice of the Ricebirds” from 1986 to 2009, covering Stuttgart High School athletics with passion and consistency. Though no longer behind the mic, Scott continues to champion local sports coverage — investing in its future, expanding access across platforms, and embracing new technology like live video streaming.

His leadership has expanded beyond the airwaves. Scott guided the launch of EAB Marketing Group, a division that combines traditional radio with cutting-edge digital services — including social media marketing, video production, programmatic ads, email marketing, and more.

Recognizing the need for trusted local journalism in smaller communities, Scott helped lead the revival of two weekly newspapers as digital-first publications: The Stuttgart Daily Leader and Wynne Progress. These outlets now deliver weekday headline editions by email to thousands of local readers, continuing their long legacies in a modern format.

Scott has served as President of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association and currently serves on the board of the National Association of State Radio Networks. He continues to mentor new broadcasters and leads by example — staying true to the spirit of local radio while helping the industry evolve.

Contributions to their community during their time as an Arkansas Broadcaster

Scott Siler has always believed that a broadcaster’s responsibility goes beyond what happens on air. His leadership is rooted in service — not just to listeners, but to the communities behind the dial.

Throughout his career, Scott has made community involvement a cornerstone of his work. He is a past president of the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, the Stuttgart Rotary Club, and the Arkansas Broadcasters Association. He has also chaired local events for the March of Dimes and American Heart Association, previously served on the board of the Stuttgart Youth Center, and has emceed and broadcasted countless community events — including beauty pageants, Christmas parades, and duck-calling contests.

In Stuttgart, Scott has long championed two major radio-based fundraisers:

• The Rotary Club Radio Auction, now in its 74th year, raised a record-breaking $100,000 in 2024.
• The Kiwanis Radiothon, formerly a two-day event, continues to raise more than $25,000 annually.

These events support scholarships and community improvement projects, and Scott ensures they remain broadcast priorities each year. He not only allocates the airtime but also takes an active role in making sure EAB teams do what’s needed to support, promote, and successfully execute each event.

Beyond Stuttgart, Scott has led similar efforts in every market where EAB Media Group operates. The company participates annually in the St. Jude’s Radiothon in Jonesboro and Blytheville. He has spent many hours behind the mic during severe weather events and now ensures that EAB broadcasters are on the air when it matters most — encouraging coverage that informs, supports, and helps communities recover during times of crisis.

This philosophy of service extends to every corner of the company. Whether it’s supporting local nonprofits, providing live coverage of civic events, or spotlighting hometown heroes, Scott empowers his teams to use their platforms to uplift and inform. He has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local causes, not through fanfare, but through consistent and committed public service.

By fostering a company-wide culture that values giving back, Scott has helped strengthen each of EAB Media Group’s markets as a better place to live and work — proving that community broadcasting still has the power to bring people together and make a real difference.

Contributions to our industry

Scott Siler’s influence in Arkansas broadcasting extends beyond his day-to-day work at EAB Media Group. Over nearly four decades, he has been a steady advocate for the role of local radio in civic life and a strong voice for keeping broadcasting relevant, connected, and community-driven.

He currently serves on the Board of the National Association of State Radio Networks, representing Arkansas broadcasters at the national level and working to strengthen the role of state-based radio in delivering timely, local information.

Scott is also widely recognized as a mentor. He has guided countless careers across Arkansas, investing time and support into helping broadcasters grow — from new on-air talent to future market leaders. His leadership style emphasizes trust, creativity, and public service, and he has created an environment where innovation and local impact go hand in hand.

Under his guidance, EAB Media Group has remained at the forefront of industry evolution. He has supported the company’s expansion into digital marketing, the integration of live video streaming alongside high school sports coverage, and the revival of local journalism through digital-first newspapers like the Stuttgart Daily Leader and Wynne Progress. These efforts reflect a modern broadcasting model — one that honors the tradition of local service while embracing the tools of the future.

Scott’s legacy is one of forward-thinking leadership rooted in the enduring power of local media — a legacy he continues to build through his commitment to the industry and to the next generation of broadcasters.
