Jay Bunyard
Career and accomplishments as an Arkansas Broadcaster
Jay Bunyard has been involved in the broadcasting industry for over 30 years. His extensive experience and contributions have made a significant impact on radio stations in Arkansas. Jay has been in radio since he was just a teenager. He grew up and purchased KDQN in De Queen. He has grown his business and now owns stations all over the state. Bunyard is the President of Bunyard Media Group, which owns and operates radio stations in the Arkansas communities of Berryville, Camden, De Queen, Mena, and Nashville. Jay is a Past President of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association and is a recipient of the Silver Microphone Award for contributions to the broadcast industry. He serves on the ABA Board of Directors and the ABA PAC.

Jay Bunyard advocates for infrastructure improvements. Whether it’s upgrading roads, parks, or public spaces, he recognizes the importance of a well-maintained community. His involvement in projects related to community facilities ensures that residents have access to essential amenities. Jay supports health-related initiatives. From organizing health fairs to promoting healthy lifestyles, he contributes to the overall well-being of De Queen residents. His efforts help create a healthier and happier community. Jay’s contributions play a vital role in making De Queen a better place for everyone! He participates in various local events, fundraisers, and community gatherings. His presence helps raise awareness and fosters community spirit. He collaborates with organizations such as chambers of commerce, Rotary clubs, and civic groups to promote economic growth and community well-being. Jay also allows his managers in Camden, Mena, Nashville and Berryville to be active members in their respective markets to make those communities better places to live.
Contributions to our industry
Jay is a recipient of the Silver Microphone Award for contributions to the broadcast industry. He serves on the Arkansas Broadcaster’s Association’s PAC. He lobbies for broadcasters on any issue that affects broadcasting. He keeps his stations up to date on any and everything that affects us, as broadcasters, so that we are always aware of the ever changing industry.
